Deahna & Justice...Maternity Session

This post is long overdue, (much like most of my posts because I am not very good at blogging) but I am so excited to share even just a glimpse of these photos because they're amazing. Many thanks to Deahna for being a great sport and modeling for me. As always, thank you to my favorite second shooter Lewis for coming with us.

This was my first attempt at maternity photos and let me just tell you... I LOVE maternity. I am really wanting to expand my business and website to include an active maternity section and I can't wait to do another maternity shoot. I love the mommies, I love the bellies, and I think maternity photos are just so beautiful and artistic and amazing. So, all that being said, if you are pregnant, please give me a call. I would love to do some belly portraits of you! :)

Anyways, back to Deahna and Justice. We spent a beautiful morning at Kraft Azalea Gardens and got some really great shots. Deahna is such a natural in front of the camera and has such an ease and grace. Here are some of my favorites from the day...

Lewis took this one...he's an excellent photographer in the making!

Deahna, congratulations on your baby boy! Justice is absolutely beautiful!

The Scroggins Family Portraits

Over the Fourth of July weekend I had the chance to take family portraits of my great friends, Jon & Christina and their kids. Taking their photos has become sort of a tradition with them, being that I shot their wedding and have done their entire family's portraits (all 20 of the Scroggins!) practically every Thanksgiving for the past few years.

Christina with her beautiful girls...

The whole family...

This was just the sweetest thing ever. We pretty much got rained out at our time at Kelly Park and Lewis walked with Kayla back to the car...with a broken umbrella. So cute!

Ok, let's try this again....day two at Jon's parents house and golf course.

This is one of my favorites...these girls are so precious.

Lewis and I had a great time hanging out with you guys that weekend and I can't wait to come visit you!

Katherine & Tyson's Engagement Session

This is another great couple that I feel priviledged to know. Katherine and I have known each other since we were about 3 years old so of course I was very excited when she asked me to shoot her wedding. I had only met Tyson a few times but after our engagement session at Rollins College he felt like an old friend too. We had a lot of fun wandering around Rollins and got some great images before the rain came. Check back soon to see images from their wedding!

Kat is defintely an expressive person and it really shows in her face. She cracked me up the whole day because she kept making all of these crazy faces when she was talking to us and Tyson. It certainly was fun sorting through all their images. :)

I just love the perspective of this photo and love love the ivy covered wall!

The tree, oh the tree...and me with my crazy ideas. I thought this tree was so awesome because it had branches that bent down to the ground and back up and I had wanted Kat & Tyson to CLIMB the tree and sit on a limb for one of the photos. Well, the trunk was a little too steep and I had forgotten to bring my ladder (ha!) so we settled for this pose instead.

The whole day I kept telling these two they should get new careers as models... they defintely know how to work it!

Vanessa & Mikey's Engagement Session

I know, I know, I'm a bad blogger, I haven't posted in forever. But, on the bright side I'm here now with a lot of updating to do!
Back in May I had the chance to take engagement photos for one of my very best friends, Vanessa and her fiance Mikey. I consider myself lucky because they flew all the way down from Boston to have me take their photos. We had a great time on a two day shoot at the Butterfly Conservatory at Lukas Nursery and the next day at Cocoa Beach. I think we got some pretty awesome images and I can't wait to be in your wedding in May 2009!

It was so cool to have the butterflies land on us...

And now for the beach!
I love that you can see their reflection in the wet sand.

What a rock!

I think this is my favorite image of our entire shoot. I love that you can see the motion of Mikey dipping her in this image. And what a dramatic kiss!

These two really are so cute. :) Congratulations you guys, I treasure our friendship!

Say cheese... or woof.

In addition to being a photographer, I also am a pet sitter. I just finished up one of my pet sitting jobs this past Sunday, but before I did I had a little impromtu portrait session with the critters. The black dog is Fuji, the white one is Eiger and the kitty is Dagney. I love these guys.
